In one of the most interesting studies yet, it has been found that men who have more sex are more likely to believe in the existence of God

In a recent study that was published in Social Cognitive and Affective Neuroscience, researchers from Duke University in North Carolina, USA, have suggested that sex can inspire spirituality in men.

The research says the oxytocin released during sex doesn’t only promote social bonding and altruism as we know, but also promotes ‘divinity’ and an increased belief in the. existence of God.

“Spirituality and meditation have each been linked to health and well-being in previous research. We were interested in understanding biological factors that may enhance those spiritual experiences. Oxytocin appears to be part of the way our bodies support spiritual beliefs,” said lead author of the study and social psychologist at the American University, Patty Van Capallen.

For purposes of the study, men were given the oxytocin hormone while others received a placebo. It was found that the men who were given the hormone were more likely to cite spirituality as something that was important in their life, even though some might’ve not necessarily thought this before receiving the oxytocin.

Spirituality is complex and affected by many factors. However, oxytocin does seem to affect how we perceive the world and what we believe
According to the study, the men were also more likely to say that they had an “interconnection with other people and living things”.

A big part of men’s response to the oxytocin also had to do with each individual’s genetic make-up. Men who had a gene called CD38, which is said to release the hormone in the brain, often had a more intensified response.

“Spirituality is complex and affected by many factors. However, oxytocin does seem to affect how we perceive the world and what we believe,” Van Capellen added.

Interesting to note is that women actually produce more oxytocin then men, but the effect it has on our female counterparts is yet to be investigated in-depth.

“Oxytocin’s effects on women’s spirituality still needs to be investigated,” said Van Capellen.

Justin Bieber is entangled in yet another drama with a fan, this time in a Munich nightclub.
According to TMZ, the pop star was attacked by a bottle-wielding fan who he reportedly bumped shoulders with, and things would have gotten bloody but for a lady who intervened.

This comes months after the Canadian star was seriously beaten up by an unidentified black man outside his hotel in Cleveland. Back then, eye witnesses said the fight broke out after Bieber refused to take photos with the man.
This time, TMZ reports that the German fan had been trying to gain the singer’s attention all night, and so when Bieber bumped into him, an altercation broke out.
“ People in the club tell us the man was trying, but failing, to get JB’s attention all night — and once they came face-to-face he decided to lunge at Justin ,” TMZ reports.
Justin Bieber’s business partner, John Shahidi, shoved the attacker to the ground, while an unidentified female whisked the singer out of the club.

President Muhammadu Buhari
In a statement signed by the president’s special adviser on media and publicity, Femi Adesina, the president on Wednesday, September 21, said the country needed such resources, particularly for infrastructure.

With the two countries having agreed on projects to which the restituted funds would be deployed, President Schneider-Ammann promised quick action, as soon as the draft agreement was signed.

He also pledged consolidation of mutual trade relationships, infrastructural development as well as support in training and equipping of the Nigerian military.
President Buhari applauded the long history of economic relationship between Nigeria and France on one hand, and Nigeria and Switzerland on the other.
At separate bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the ongoing 71st United Nations General Assembly in New York, United States of America, the president welcomed more investment and economic partnerships, saying Nigeria was a fertile ground for handsome return on investments.
“Apart from your country’s close relationship with us, you have the same with most of our neighbours,” President Buhari told Francois Hollande of France. “We seek more collaboration, particularly in agriculture, mining and security.”
The president told his French counterpart of the Presidential Committee on the North East, which he described as a one-stop mechanism on development partnership for a zone that had been ravaged for many years by Boko Haram insurgents, and which needed urgent rebuilding.
President Hollande in his reponse pledged that France would not only fully engage with Nigeria on different fronts, but would also provide humanitarian assistance in the North East.
“We will invest in Nigeria, we believe in her,” the French president said.

Meanwhile, President Buhari during a bilateral meeting with President Barack Obama said that Nigeria is making steady progress towards resolving the problem in the Niger Delta region which has led to economic sabotage on a grand scale.
While thanking America for help rendered in the area of security through provision of armaments, training for Nigerian troops, and sharing of intelligence, which has led to the degradation of Boko Haram in the North East, President Buhari said the country was open to support in combating the humanitarian crisis currently ravaging the region.
